TACO BELL SHRIMP TACOS - I still have never had a fish or shrimp taco. From anywhere. And they sell them all over around San Jose. So last night when I came across a recipe for a shrimp taco in a cookbook I'm thinking of cooking from, I book-marked it. What the heck. Maybe it will be okay. Then this morning I came across the fact that Taco Bell will now, for a limited time, be selling their own shrimp tacos. Described as "a warm, soft flour tortilla filled with six succulent shrimp marinated in a mix of spices, then topped with crisp shredded lettuce, Fiesta Salsa, and Avocado Ranch Sauce" I'm still not sure about putting anything but chicken, beef or pork in my tacos! BUT THERE IS POTATO - But imagine my surprise when I went to the Taco Bell website to find out that Taco Bell also sells a potato taco! Now that is something that intrigues me. Described as "A soft flour tortilla filled with crispy potato bites, Pepper Jack sauce, crisp, shredded lettuce and real cheddar cheese" I'm thinking maybe it's a taco with "hash brown like" potatoes inside? I may have to experiment and figure out how to make one of my own. For more information on the Taco Bell Crispy Potato Soft Taco go here. Calories for this taco are listed at 260.
FLIP FLOP - So in a normal world, you'd go to McDonald's for your hot beverage and Jamba Juice for your smoothies right? Well, flip that. Soon you'll be able to get your fruit smoothies at McDonald's. Real Fruit Smoothies will come in two flavors, Strawberry Banana and Wild Berry. Introduced at the Olympic Games in Vancouver, the fruit smoothies should start showing up this summer. And on the flip side, you are now able to get your hot beverages at your local Jamba Juice store. They offer three tea latte's (Original Spiced Chai, Perfectly Chocolate Chai and Heavenly Green Tea) and one Classic Hot Chocolate. Regularly priced at $2.95 your hot beverage can be blended with organic nonfat milk, 2% milk or soy milk. Since Jamba Juice now sells oatmeal they can be your one stop shop for breakfast. For more information and to find out if they are selling this in your area (and if you are on the sample tour stop) go here.
YODA - And because some of these are food related (and I'm a sucker for all things Star Wars) I leave you with 22 Awesome Things That Look Like Yoda.
I don't know about shrimp taco but I would like to try the potato taco! I also loved all that Yoda stuff. I like the metal sculpture and wish I had it. Glad to see Small Plates is back.

Since Keith and I are semi-addicted to Taco Bell, I will openly admit that the potato taco is something I get every time. It's the sauce that puts it over the edge, that and the fact that I love potatoes. they aren't hashy, just potato square things. Mmmmm, I am already drooling. I bet the avacado sauce on the shrimp taco is just as good.
I love Taco Bell!
