LA CUCINA ITALIANA - Authentic Recipes From All Over Italy - Consultant Editor Gabriella Rossi
This cookbook has a copyright of 1998. I don't know where I got this book. I have never cooked from this book before.
This is definitely a "picture" cookbook. Not only is there a photo of every recipe (sometimes full page), there is a photo of the ingredients and photos of the step by step directions. As far as the ingredient photos, it will show a small photo (say for Stuffed Flounder Rolls) of flounder, pine nuts, butter parsley, celery, fish stock, onion, anchovy fillets, sun-dried tomatoes and white bread crumbs. These little photos come in handy if you kind of want a glance as to what you might need for a recipe and also for some ingredients that you might not be familiar with (like maybe if you can't remember what that herb that has been lurking in the back of your refrigerator is, you can see by the photo that it's thyme. Not that I have herbs lurking anywhere).
The book has brief pages (with photos) on equipment you might need to cook with, ingredients and a small "basic recipe" section. There are only 50 recipes in this book ranging from soups and salads, to fish, meat, poultry and of course pasta and pizza.
Recipes seem pretty straightforward. Techniques and directions seem easy to follow. Seems to be mostly fresh ingredients (fresh tomatoes in sauces, not canned). The photos of the finished dishes look very tasty.
