GREAT FOOD FAST - Everyday Food From the Kitchens of Martha Stewart Living
This cookbook has a copyright of 2007. I bought this book at Costco this year. I have cooked out of this before.
I've actually posted a couple of recipes from this book on the blog already, just never showed the cookbook. Recipes tried were Skirt Steak with Spicy Green Salsa and Herb Crusted Snapper. Both were very good.
This book is divided into seasons which makes it handy for me to try to cook with ingredients that are easy to find at that time of year. Each season has recipes for starters, sides, main courses, pastas and desserts. The recipes are super simple, don't really call for hard to find ingredients and don't take that long from start to finish to make. And even if they are simple dishes, they look pretty tasty as each recipe has a full page photo (except for sides which are posted four photos to a page).
There is a basics section which has vinaigrette's and rubs and a complete nutrition section for each recipe (I think they made it it's own section to make the recipes and photo section fit and look cleaner).
I have the first ten or so issues of the little magazine you can find at the supermarket. I have to admit, I love this book. Lots of quick meals to make that look and sound tasty. All three dishes I've made have tasted good, were simple and easy to do and, the big payoff, were pretty quick to make. I've book marked quite a few recipes to try and am waiting for the official "winter" season before I cook any of those. This is one of the books I look to when I know I won't have lots of time to make dinner.
