I am what you would call a messy cook. Not in that there are a ton of pots and pans lying around after I've made a meal...in that I'm usually wearing portions of what I'm cooking by the time I eat. I'm learning not to wear white anytime I'm anywhere near the stove.
I've been looking for some cool aprons to wear to try to keep clean and though I've found several, most just don't fit me. Unless they have a "tie" neck, they don't cover my chest area adequately* and they are usually a bit long in length for my liking.
I've been thinking about maybe sewing my own aprons at some point and periodically check out food related fabric. I came across this site which has a nice assortment of fabrics that deal with food...they have fabrics with some standard food items like cherries and lemons to a bit more off the wall fabrics that include salsa, grilled corn, tequila, potato chips and the shown coffee cups. The online shop is called Favorite Fabrics and you can check out their food and drink related fabrics here.
I may just get some of this fabric to try to make an apron with...but the new sewing machine has been in the box for over a year so maybe I should work on figuring out how to use that first! One domestic task at a time.
*Please note, this isn't because my chest is of any casaba melon size, just that I'm short and the necks don't seem to fall in the right place.
While you are at it how about making me 1 or 2. You can practice making me one before you make your own.

Geez, I don't have to cook it to wear food, I just have to walk past when it is being cooked. ;-) Aprons never fit me either--I am way too short. An apron would be a great project to learn how to use that sewing machine in a box. hahaha!
