AUTUMN - From the Heart of the Home - Susan Branch
This cookbook has a copyright of 2004. Bought the book at Barnes and Noble several months ago. I have never cooked from this before.
This is not just a cookbook. This is also an art book and a scrapbook inspiration book. Susan Branch was one of the first "designers" I ever knew about in scrapbooking. I loved her stickers and papers which I found readily at Michaels. And as a beginner scrapper, having a line of papers and stickers that all seemed to work together was a plus. They were whimsical, beautiful and looked like little works of art. Lots of my first scrap pages are full of her stuff. And her handwriting? Wow, I would give my left arm to have handwriting like hers.
This book not only has recipes but wonderful creative ideas for making your house warm and cozy for the autumn season. Each page is in Susan's handwriting (which for some, might be a bit of a pain as it does take a bit more effort to read) along with beautiful watercolors sprinkled throughout. Though the book has some great sounding recipes, what makes this book to me is the artwork that goes with those recipes, the inspiring quotations she peppers throughout, and yeah, I just love that handwriting!
Are you ever going to try her recipes?
