FROM AUSTRALIA Not the best photo....but can you tell what it is? Um, looks like tri-tip. In fact, most of the folks at the party thought that's what it was and dug in. I knew before I tasted it what it was. Don't worry, it's not some small furry animal that hops, and if it was? Well, I've had rabbit before and didn't flinch. But this? For some reason this was a bit harder to take that first bite. But...it did taste like tri-tip..sort of. Did I have a big piece? No. Just a tiny piece. At least I can say I tried it. But it didn't taste bad, I didn't die and I didn't run screaming from the room. Figured it out yet? It's from Australia. It hops. It's kangaroo. Yeah, I shuddered at first too. . Anthony Bourdain I'm not.
If you could find me a piece that was a little less rare I would give it a try.

Jan - I read that Kangaroo needs to be rare or medium rare to keep it from getting tough. I usually like my meat on the medium rare side but I admit I picked an end piece that was a little more cooked (and smaller than the rest!)
