*I wore clothes
*I did not wear a costume
*I was amazed at the naked men who really shouldn't have been naked.
*Saw a few drunk people.
*Walked did not run.
*Started and finished with Mr. L and my Aunt (who is in her 70's!)
*Was very glad that it only really rained once and that the sun was out by the time we hit the finish line at the beach.
*Time was 2 hours 32 minutes.
*Time would have been better if I didn't have to stand in line for restrooms.
*There were folks doing the race on stilts.
*Completely bummed that the offical photographers did NOT get me or Mr. L crossing the finish line. They have two other folks as us.
*Was very thankful for the two girls selling lemonade near the top of Hayes Hill. Smart girls!
*It was not just a 7 1/2 mile race for us. You had to add the mile plus to actually get there from the hotel (down a big hill), the bit of walking to get to the start line, the mile after the finish to get to the food/t-shirts, the walk to the bus and then the trip from the bus stop back home (up the hill).
*I'm fibbing. Once the bus dropped us off I refused to walk from the bus back (up the hill) to the hotel so Mr. L hailed a cab.
*I love my husband.
*But then everyone wanted Starbucks so we walked back down the hill for a post race coffee.
*I hate them all.
*My feet are still barking.
*Yes, I plan on doing it again next year. Next time I won't worry about finishing, tweeting my experience, getting a medal etc. Next time I just want to check out the costumes in the crowd and dance with the folks on the sidelines and maybe if I'm lucky get my photo taken when I cross the finish line.
*And then someone better just carry my ass back to the hotel.....
