And the Winners Are....

IMG_1517 I'm not sure what's going on with this woman. First she deprives me from food for half a day because she thinks just because I hacked up a little hairball that I need to be Petromalted. Then she sticks that stuff all over my mouth and it takes me hours to lick my self clean. After that she decides that it's time to clip my nails...sheesh, they were giving my old body such  great traction trying to get up on the bed.  That little hole in the duvet cover is hardly noticeable.  And then she wakes me up in the middle of a nice nap in the sun because she wants me to chase after little pieces of paper with numbers on them? What is this woman thinking? Harrumph. In any event, she got on that electronic doohickey she sits in front of and I think she had it run around chasing numbers on paper. Something about a random cat who chases generators. Then she had a little freak out cuz she couldn't figure out how to capture the screen. Doesn't she know all you have to do is stick a paw out and snag it with a claw? I don't know, all I know is that I think I should just freak her out and go cough up a hairball on that prized duvet cover of hers. But, maybe later, I think it's time for another nap....

Toaster is right. I figured out the number generator but how was I supposed to post the image? I had to run and get my camera and photograph my computer screen. I know there has to be an easier way! So the winners just need to e-mail me at hkydiva1 at yahoo dot com with their addresses. I'll try to get the packages out this next weekend. Congrats! I may have to do this again sometime.

Hockey Giveaway

IMG_1522 Before you reply to this post, remember to read the rules here!

The hockey giveaway consists of a limited edition Stanley Cup Sharks/Dallas playoff pin 2008 and a Jonathan Cheecho lineup card from Game One of the Sharks/Dallas playoff game. Plus a little something extra to be thrown in...think teal.

It's Giveaway Time!

IMG_6095 A bit late, but at least I'm consistently late!

Once my blogiversary came around last month, I had planned on giving away some items to celebrate the fact that I was still cooking after a year...and maybe that I hadn't burned down the kitchen yet...or poisoned my husband. I've actually scrapbooked in the past year AND I've gone to some hockey games, so a food, hockey, scrapbooking giveaway seemed in order. I know I'm a bit late for the blogiversary...I'll do better next year.

There will be three giveaways...one for scrapbooking, one for hockey and one for food. I will make a separate post for each. You will have to decide which giveaway you are interested in. You can only sign up to win ONE of the three. If you don't see something you like, what the heck, try to win it anyway and give it to a friend! I debated on whether to keep this strictly US based but since I know I have at least one regular Canadian reader (Hi Jan!), I figured what the heck, anyone can play. Just realize that if you win and live in a foreign country, you will have to help me figure out how to do the paperwork and get it to you as cheaply as possible. This is my first giveaway so be gentle with me! Remember the rules:

Giveaway Rules:

  • There will be three separate posts, one for hockey, one for scrapping and one for food
  • Put a reply on the post that corresponds with the item you would like to win
  • You can only post for ONE of the three (if you reply on two or all three posts, you will be disqualified)
  • You will have until Sunday at noon Pacific time on the 22nd to play
  • Winner will be picked by Random Generator...if I can figure out how to use it. It not, names will be thrown in the air and which ever Toaster the cat claws first wins.
  • Winner will be announced Sunday evening...or Monday morning if I have too many margaritas with Sunday brunch.
  • Am I forgetting anything?

Good luck!

Hockey - Ron Wilson, So Long...

6baec24b122d4e62bfe595c8e065157band thanks for all the fish.

Now the summer games begin...who will be the Sharks next head coach? Anyone want to take a guess?

I was one of those that wondered what happened to Mike Grier and a few others during the playoffs. Now I understand. I'd love to see the injury list to Calgary and all the other teams already out. I'm sure by the time the Stanley Cup is awarded the list of hockey players that played with injuries will be a mile long. Say what you want about hockey, but dang those guys are tough, the way they play through and with injuries.

Kyle McLaren - groin, he will have his knee revisited next week.
Christian Ehrhoff - high ankle sprain
Brian Campbell - MCL sprain,  MRI on his right knee and shoulder.
Craig Rivet - various injuries to wrist, knee and elbow that will require MRI’s.
Milan Michalek - shoulder injury
Patrick Marleau - will have an MRI done to his shoulder
Jonathan Cheechoo - MCL sprain.
Devin Setoguchi - left shoulder repair and a sports hernia operation.
Mike Grier - right knee scoped
Joe Thornton - MRI on his leg
Patrick Rissmiller - sports hernia operation
Curtis Brown - MRI on his left hand

DeathstarcakeGROOMS CAKE - I seriously considered having a grooms cake for my wedding. There were two options I was considering. Either a full 3-D Battlestar Galactica Cylon head or the Star Trek emblem from the upcoming movie. Alas, since we went with a cake from Cakework (YUMMY) I didn't have the finances to pull off a grooms cake. But I know if I did, it would have been cool. Which is exactly what I think about the Death Star grooms cake pictured.  Yeah, I know, death and weddings don't really go together...but I still think it's cool. To find out more go here. One of these days I'll find a good photo of my wedding cake and post it.

NO CHALUPA GIRLS! - It's always interesting to see what kind of things I post that get the most hits to my blog. Last week I did this post about the new Taco Bell Chalupas. I have gotten so many hits for "Taco Bell Women" and "Chalupa Babes" and "The women in the Taco Bell commercial" since then. And here I thought it was all about the bacon! (And yes, ask Mr. L, I have been bugging him about going and getting a chalupa ever since that post...maybe I need to make him watch the commercial!).

HOCKEY - Round 2. Game 1. Sharks vs Dallas. At The Tank. The playoff ticket to use tonight is the "E" ticket. All I can think of is I hope we aren't in for an "E" ticket ride cuz my little ole heart can't take any more hockey stress! GO SHARKS!
