I had actually never heard of Five Guys until recently. But then what I heard wasn't good. Not that the food was bad, because folks tend to rave...but because it's made several "foods that are bad for you" lists. Too many calories, too much salt, this and that. But I usually take those reports with a grain of salt (remember all those folks screaming how bad the KFC Double Down was only to find most burgers at restaurants had lots more calories?).
Five Guys basically just does burgers and fries (sounds a bit like In'N'Out doesn't it?). They also do hot dogs. They have a Bacon Cheese Hot Dog (you know I'm gonna have to try that one). They do not have drive though. Don't know prices but the article I saw said that the average check runs about $3 more than In'N'Out.
Five Guys is trying to take over Santa Clara County. They are planning to open 22 new places in the next seven years. The first restaurant will open in June in Sunnyvale (at El Camino Real and Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road). This sign is on one of the buildings at The Plant (next to the Wing Stop). I couldn't find anywhere where they said exactly when the place will open.Anybody eaten at a Five Guys and can give a report?
