I wish I could tell you that the reason I haven't posted in the past couple of weeks is because I've been off an a culinary adventure with incredible tasting foods beyond the imagination. Alas, what I have been ingesting has been Robitussin, Nyquil, Mucinex, Sudafed, Aspirin, Cough Syrup with Codeine, and Azithromycin. Not to mention Saltine Crackers, 7-Up, Chicken Noodle Soup (in various forms like Chicken and Stars, Home-style), Stouffer's Mac and Cheese and, because my husband loves me, my sick food of choice, Taco Bell Bean Burritos add sour cream. All washed down of course with a healthy dose of the Humidifier constantly running in my bedroom.
Normally when I'm sick I still think about food. Not this time. Even though I had a healthy appetite during my down days, with this cold/flu/fever/bronchitis/sinus infection illness I couldn't taste a damn thing. So not a lot of time spent perusing cookbooks or folding corners of recipes I want to make from magazines or checking out food blogs like I usually do when I'm home in bed sick...for a week. Urgh.
But I realized while watching Iron Chef Battle of avocado tonight that maybe I might be getting back on my game. My mouth tingled. It watered. It wanted an avocado NOW. So maybe after work tomorrow I'll have to go grocery shopping. Since neither Mr. L nor I have really done any shopping recently and the pantry is a bit bare. Did I mention Mr. L was sick first? Believe me he's paying for giving me this crud (see trip to Taco Bell).
