ANOTHER MASTER CHEF - Yes, I've used this photo of Rick Bayless before, but I can't help it, it's a favorite of mine (photographer unknown). Who knew that little guy was so strong! Bayless, the first Top Chef Masters winner, will have to share that title as Bravo announced there will be a second season of the show. No word yet on when the show will premiere or who the master chefs will be vying to come out on top, but regular Top Chef judge Gail Simmons will be joining the show. I can see several years down the line a "Top Chef Masters Masters" show with all the Masters winners competing against each other. For more information go here.
FREE CHICKEN - KFC's first try at giving away their new grilled chicken went horribly awry, but that's not stopping them from trying again. This Monday (October 26th), 5,000 KFC's will be giving away a free piece of grilled chicken to every customer in the US. Nowhere is it saying if this offer is available from open to close or any specific time, just that it's happening Monday. And remember, it's just ONE piece of the grilled chicken, so don't go there expecting to get an entire meal or half a chicken. But if you do go buy some KFC Monday and just happen to order some Hot Wings and a side of mashed potatoes and gravy be sure to ask for your grilled chicken sample (hint hint Mr. L).
HERE AND OKAY - Thanks to all the e-mails regarding my Grandma. It's been tough trying to get back into the swing of things and I admit, blogging and cooking haven't exactly been on the top of my to do list. But I actually cooked dinner the other night (thanks be to Mr. L who has taken over most household chores for me), and this morning I picked up one of my cookbooks to try to find something to cook for this weekend. I'm hoping the cooking mojo comes back soon. I can't believe Halloween is only a week away. I have a few Halloween posts that are screaming to be put up before the holiday arrives so don't be surprised if they start showing up again. But seriously, your kind words about my Grandma have helped, Thank You.
