What Did You Eat?

I personally did not know Sherry of the food blog "What Did You Eat?". I only knew her as a fellow food blogger. Many years ago when I first found her blog, I bookmarked it and made it a regular stop on my food blog travels leaving a comment here or there. Once I started my own food blog, Sher was kind enough to post a comment every now and then. It wasn't just the wonderful recipes she posted or the fact that she was a cat lover and regularly posted pictures of her wonderful felines, it was the humor and kindness that shown through her posts that made me a regular reader.

She recently had had some health problems, anemia being one of them. A problem I've had on and off all my life, we traded e-mails. I sent her recipes loaded with iron goodness, she responded with things maybe I should try. It was partly because of her and our anemia discussions that I finally got off my butt and made an appointment to go have my own blood tested. I figured if it turned out I was anemic again and had to go back on iron pills, I would have someone on the journey to iron rich blood with me.

Unfortunately Sher passed away suddenly last weekend.  I've never met this woman, I've never talked to her on the phone but she was a big part of the food community that I frequent, a community that will miss her immensely. As a tribute, bloggers were asked to maybe cook a recipe that came from her blog and post it today. I was amazed at how many of her recipes showed up on my "to try someday" list. Though I wasn't able to cook something from that list, I know many others did. To find out more about Sher and her blog go here. You will be missed Sher. And all I can think of is when you saw Upsie again was....what did you two eat???
