Hockey - Ron Wilson, So Long...

6baec24b122d4e62bfe595c8e065157band thanks for all the fish.

Now the summer games begin...who will be the Sharks next head coach? Anyone want to take a guess?

I was one of those that wondered what happened to Mike Grier and a few others during the playoffs. Now I understand. I'd love to see the injury list to Calgary and all the other teams already out. I'm sure by the time the Stanley Cup is awarded the list of hockey players that played with injuries will be a mile long. Say what you want about hockey, but dang those guys are tough, the way they play through and with injuries.

Kyle McLaren - groin, he will have his knee revisited next week.
Christian Ehrhoff - high ankle sprain
Brian Campbell - MCL sprain,  MRI on his right knee and shoulder.
Craig Rivet - various injuries to wrist, knee and elbow that will require MRI’s.
Milan Michalek - shoulder injury
Patrick Marleau - will have an MRI done to his shoulder
Jonathan Cheechoo - MCL sprain.
Devin Setoguchi - left shoulder repair and a sports hernia operation.
Mike Grier - right knee scoped
Joe Thornton - MRI on his leg
Patrick Rissmiller - sports hernia operation
Curtis Brown - MRI on his left hand

Yeah, a lot of those guys(the ones left playing) are playing on broken feet right now I was reading.

Thanks for the thrill you have given me Coach Wilson. I think Doug made a BIG mistake letting you go. You have given me a thrill a minute since you took over. You brought the Sharks a long way. You will be missed.

I have mixed feelings about the Sharks letting Ron go. It wasn't a surprise by any means, but I sure loved Coach. I'm going to hate seeing another coach behind the bench. I hope our assistant coaches stay.

One of the players I was wondering about was Seto not playing game 6. I thought that was a big mistake and when the injury report came out it made a lot more sense. Reminds me to not be an armchair coach all the time....

as long as the new head coach isn't wayne grotesky or mike keenan i don't care.

Or Pat Burns. He was a disaster with young players when he coached Boston. It was Thornton's rookie year and he was pretty much banished to the third or fourth line.

I'm trying not to tell my mom about the rumors of Melrose being in line for the coaching job. She loves him!
