FREE MCDONALDS - Well, okay, not free since you do have to buy something to get something. But tomorrow morning (as they did today) McDonalds will give you a "free" McSkillet Burrito if you buy a medium or large size drink. I went in and bought a McDonalds medium coffee since I've been meaning to try them anyway. The coffee wasn't that bad and you get a really nice large drink even if they call it medium for about $1.70. The McSkillet Burrito? The one I got certainly didn't look anything like the one that is in the McDonalds ads (see photo). I saw no peppers. And the egg was on one side of the burrito and all the sauce and cheese on another. The taste? Not so tasty. Not something I'd go buy again. I will say that the girls behind the counter were very nice, very friendly. So maybe tomorrow you can stop by, get yourself a nice cup of coffee and donate the burrito to your dog? Or the homeless guy on the corner. Or maybe that coworker who keeps bugging you to bring him breakfast sometime. For more information on this deal go here.
DIET DONUTS - Diet Donuts, Diet Donuts. There is just something wrong with that. I'm not sure that the new, limited edition, "Lightly Glazed" donuts from Krispy Kreme are exactly "diet", but they are "lightly drizzled with their signature Original Glaze". Lightly Glazed. Sounds diet to me, which makes them perfectly okay to eat on a diet right? For more information go here. They are only available till March 23rd.
NEW STARBUCKS DRINK - Did YOU try to go to Starbucks on Tuesday when they were closed? I did not, but I do know someone who forgot completely even after reading the blog and that person shall be nameless...but it did make me giggle. And now that everyone is retrained, it's time for Starbucks to come out with some new drinks. How about a Honey Latte? This new drink has perfectly pulled (it better be after the retraining) espresso, steamed milk, sweet honey and golden spice, crowned with whipped cream and an additional drizzle of honey. Um...what is golden spice??? A Grande Honey Latte with 2% milk will run you 330 calories. Take off the whipped cream and use nonfat milk and you can get the calorie count down to 200 calories. Take off the honey and...well...you just have some coffee with steamed milk (and that strange golden spice!). Go here for more info.
